CONGRATS ON POSTING SOME REALLY NICE & well detailed PHOTOS

Ok so the Accel plugs were only a tiny bit shorter than the champions, not enough to justify the cost IMO.

So I picked up some MSD "Race" spark plug boots: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006303M6

Some Spark plug heat protectors: http://www.amazon.com/LEDAUT-Spark-Protector-Insulating-Sleeve/dp/B014XMOBGO/

And some thermal wrap http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E283S0

After installing the "race" boots I wrapped them with the tape, and then installed the wires with the sleevees.

I also added two gaskets to the passenger side to clearance a bit more, It also gave me a little more clearance for the starter wires.

And for the wires that run close to the header I used this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FS9K69I

How difficult was the tape wrap to install?

Nice work....when do you plan on starting it up?

tape wrap was pretty easy, you cannot tear the tape so I just used a box cutter.

While wrapping I used that box cutter blade to cut the tape to make wrapping a bit easier.
(like cutting corners on cardboard to make a box)

Any points I just rolled out like tinfoil ect, it stuck to it self pretty good overall.

I also worked the thermal tape up the plug wire a little bit prior to final install.

And I did fire it up with the new exhaust on Saturday, I waited till 10:30am...

Idling it was not to bad so I gave the pedal a little tap...
I think I rattled some windows as shortly after I had some doors open.
I got a disapproving look from my one neighbor, and I overheard "I think it was the guy with the corvette" in the distance. :)

I noticed the tone was a bit different, I was hoping for more of a "race car" sound... but I still need to balance the throttle bodies and set the TPS voltage (Idle was high).

I also measured my oem mufflers, those flow masters grumpy suggested look like they will be a perfect fit.

I'm hoping to make the order next week as I'm forbidden to touch the car this weekend (valentines day)...

Also the plug wires were fine with the short run time, the real trick will be if they survive a good summer time freeway drive.

while wrapping the plug boot like above appears to be a splendid idea for reflecting heat and might work perfectly I suspect theres at least some potential the metallic heat reflective tape could potentially provide an electrically conductive short circuit path for ignition voltage

the ceramic boots at least in theory , when combined with heat reflective / insulating socks, like pictured below might produce a less likely electrical ground path

Id at least suggest increasing the potential distance an electrical arc might potentially jump and use of an over the boot surface non-electrically conductive sock to be used under the heat reflective layer some what similar to these pictured below

Yeah... that was something I thought about while doing it...

I also thought the thermal fiberglass sleeve might also give me a little more resistance to arching to ground, however those sleeves also have what felt like a metal ring at the base...

I'll keep an eye on it, but for sure the tape is conductive.

Also moving the heat wrap to the other side of the sock sounds like a good idea.

The wife gave me permission to work on the car tonight only... ;)

I set the idle and balanced the throttle bodies as close as i could get it, i think I'll need to do the bushings some time this summer...

The idle sounds pretty cool, a bit more of a loopy idle.

Once i have the mufflers i should be good for a drive. :D

let us know how it runs and feels now ,compared to what you used to have under the hood

The real test will be when i can drive it.

However running on jack stands in neutral the car responds better, revs faster.

Noting i don't have mufflers yet... Tapping the throttle is like a train horn of engine.
Like it carries and echoes back...
