Unforgiven Project

I was out his way in Tulsa about 12 years ago doing some riding.
I'm not a professional, I just have liked to ride since I was young for fun.
My late Dad's side of the family has a big dairy farm where I spent a great deal of time growing up, and my mother's side was really big into harness racing horses.
You could say I had the best of both worlds!
My headers are going to Jet Hot in Oklahoma City. Where Rick is.

Brian I I about shit ourselves cause Zoe still did not know about the coyotes and could not figure where her chickens went!
All was good and we all had a great laugh out of it!
No... My wife did not kill the chickens... even though she wanted too!
It was a big coincident. One we will not forget!

Wow, that's so funny !!! It's great when you have good neighbors !

Nice!
I like Rick, he seems like a straight shooting man!
He prolly met those guy's from the show too?
I would like to meet Farm truck.
Farmtruck is my Favorite also.
Only True street out of the group.
Has a Full Size radiator with the 632 ci Nitrous BBC.
Rest are True Promods.
No radiator.
Big Chief has a water jacket Pontiac V8 and E heads no billet.
Sealed system.

Hey guy's I am liking this distributor
anyone ever use one?
No not here.
It's been a hot topic in past current or last 10 years ignition systems.
Since your running Supercharged Boost you need 100% Reliable.
Need lighting fast ignition retard.
Programable laptop software tables be best.
It's somewhat variant by Static and dynamic and effective compression ratio what needs to be done.
Can go dirt cheep and get into trouble and blow up the engine near instant.
Hate to say the more money you spend the better.
Can spend $10k on ignition. Necessary No.
All MSD all in 1 drop in distributor I advise to avoid.
China copycats too.

The Original MSD Pro Billet distributor is still good that you use with MSD 6, 7, 8, & 10 series.
Since its an Alchol E85 burner now soon MSD 8 & 10 box Programable be best.

Actually in Magneto Territory now.
Nothing Lights off Alcohol better .
Vertex OAC is what I use.
Vertex OAX made for Alcohol and Nitromethane use High Current output.
Vertex mags most affordable.
Have to know the engine well to use.
No retard system made by Vertex.
Was one got cancelled years back.
Want 10 degrees retard set it lock it.
No advance used for alcohol...fixed locked.

Use a Vertex mag on TA.
On my street 1963 Pontiac Gp another with 1965 Oldsmobile 425 V8.
100 % reliable. Both have advance for gasoline use.

Coil on plug LS style.
Works Ok on E85.
Lacks firepower current at plugs on Late model street E85 Chicago Vettes.
Hard to start cold. Seem 1st hand.
Pop and miss bad. Pro EFI Tuned too.

MSD 10 if you can wing it.

Electromotive EFI ignition COIL ON PLUG.
NEED MONEY.

Vertex Mag my own choice every time.

Well.... Sheet.... I am going to be using a MSD 6-BTM ignition control. I was looking for a mechanic advance billet dizzy and thought that dizzy would fit the bill.
I'm not trying to go cheap..I was just trying to rein in the costs just a bit.
I've allowed $800 for my ignition .
Already have new 9mm wires so that does not have to come out of the $800

I don't like locked out ignitions. I prefer alot of initial and small mechanical.
But I know it's not what I want, it's what the motor is going to want.

They hang up mechanical advance at worst times.
Had a MSD Pro Billet distributor with no vacuum advance the Race model.
Used with MSD 6AL Ignition.
135 degree Taylor Pro Wires.
Old past ignition on my TA.

Does not hang up on a Vertex mag because no return springs inside.
It's a pendulum stepped locked advance.
Will not return retract till rpms come down.
Boost need 100% accurate.
Only way to lockout advance eliminate.

What can be done is wire up ignition box on a seperate switch.
Crank the engine over then flip the ignition switch ON.
Takes off running.
Just like a Drag Car.

MSD has a couple High Output HVAC Coils.
Make a Race model.
Work Decent.
Race model will get hot.
Short duration use like Race Drag mud truck.
Alcohol including E85 is hard to Light off.
Takes Amperage current at Spark plugs.
Or High Joules energy present at Spark plug gaps each.

Yes , That is exactly how my set up is.

The reason I don't like lock out is that , too much advance at low RPM's can be detrimental to the motor.
There are times when I am just cruising around at 3000 rpm's .

We tore down all fences that the old neighbor installed. I hate them! luckily so does my new neighbors. They have to have corrals for the horses but they are wooden. And are pleasant to look at.

Your thinking like a pump gas 87-93 octane street engine.
Normal aspirated all advance in A high octane race engine should be in by 900-1200 rpms.

Alcohol Methanol and E85 Corn fuel wants needs alot fast advance to Light off proper.
Flame front propagation burn time is slower than gasoline.
Much like C16 Q16 and VP 120 motor octane race gas.

Lucky you. I've had one bad neighbor and wished I had done what was depicted. Court battle and lots of lost money and time.

Hmmm. I am not arguing anything, you may be correct Brian.
The last motor run on Q16 with 22* initial and 12 mechanical
That is where it seemed to perform the best.

I need to think about what you are saying and let it soak in for abit.
