124 mph trap speed is traditional to get 10.999 ET in 1/4 mile in a 2 door musclecar with right gearing for drag race.
Sticky tires.
Suspension that allows full weight transfer to rear tires.
Hook and Book.
1.60 Foot times or better.

Here is what is actually needed.
Have to remember you do not have a Full Drag Race 496.
It is detuned to run on pump gas 93 octane & be semi civil.
Race Cams have severe compromises most will not tolerate today.
I grew up using for street racing to win.

I would not use a Full Race cam myself in a daily driver to run year round here in Illinois.

I have street cars & trucks.
My Trans Am is the Race car.

Best I can tell Wallace Racing is using 60 foot times 1.60 seconds.
Might be as high as 1.70.

1st Gen Camaro usually hits 1.70 60 foot pretty easy with drag slicks .

I have hit 1.70 60 foot on street tires $90 each on my 70 TA.
Front sway bar hooked up.

Best 60 foot on Mickey Drag Radials is 1.4 seconds.

60 Foot times should drop alot with the New Coan Converter.
ET will also drop.

MPH Trap speed next race for you will dictate better True HP.

Here's how Howard's tech guy explained
What was going on , and is very similar to what we saw on dyno.
Cam needs retarded about 4 degree
But wants me to do it in 2 degrees increments , he said typically he tells people using a belt drive to dial it in with chain and sprocket set, then carefully remove chain and sprocket
And put belt drive on, because all manufacturers are typically off a few degrees .

Said that cam needs a single plane intake
Partly because of head air flow.
And that cam wants 6500rpm

Ok.
Try it.
780 ft/lbs on a pump gas 496 may be there.
Just appears to high.

LOVE the pictures

btw
I've got several degree wheels
I generally prefer the larger version, mostly because its easier too read and fits the crank turning tool, and can be quickly removed and re installed

and I've found that if the engines on an engine stand
use of the larger 18" diam versions a bit easier for old geezers to read,
but the smaller diam you pictured also has the advantage of allowing far easier access to the cam timing set,
when you go to index the cam timing,
so obviously both have advantages and dis-advantages

Thanks, I posted to let you know I degreed cam in, at least a attempted to
May not be right,
My main focus was intake center line
I checked a few other things as well,
But I used the .050 method on both sides of the lobe to find center then worked from there to establish my 108 degree.
But I have been known to make a mistake or two, last mistake was 1982
Lol:):D
Just kidding ;)

this AM, I had to take out the trash as it was trash day!
as Im taking out the trash the wife says...
.
.

try not to wake up the grand kids!
.
.
I turned to her and asked her,

how in hell do you expect me to get them all out at the curb without waking them UP!
.
.
she gave me that typical wife look!
.
.

I said, well? they would not take them last week,
so I guess taking them out to the curb is wasted effort anyway!

wives have zero sense of humor

Okay new torque converter works great
3rd gear is way more positive.
Retarded cam 2 degrees now it raps out
To 6500 new single plane intake
Works well too...
Only had to tweak the fuel on acceleration at 5k afr jumped 18
Added fuel back to 13.2

Going racing Friday weather permitting
We will see if any of all helped
