Lumber is up 16 % since Dec 15, last week another 5% and May 1st projected 7% again.
Steel, well all metals is at 11 year highs right now.
All plastics, hard materials - everything you need to build or make anything is 25% higher this year.

Only cell phone service remains the same!

the more mandates, documentation, taxes and regulations put on the fabrication,
acquisition, transportation and manufacturing, of raw materials and sub assemblies,
that the government imposes the higher prices rise, its simple economics any cost increase,
is ALWAYS EVENTUALLY passed on the final purchaser or user.
and that cost increase through government interference in free trade,
always eventually results in lower sales and eventually lower profits
people will always try to get the most value for the money they spend
thus manufacturers need to cover the costs, of
materials, labor, packaging, advertising and material and product shipping,
and add in a reasonable profit, or they will no longer be in business,
you can only reduce quality , or extend delivery time delays so far before the market for your product evaporates.
people who make a product will always try to show they make a better product then the competition,
or price their product significantly lower to boost sales,
when the government trys to change this balance in the market ,
the result is always eventually less product availability, lower production, or higher cost or less produce availability
or a mixture of those results

And Covid played a huge part in the increases we now see. The Texas shit fest to stay independent of the nation power grid has caused fuel and petroleum prices to rise.
