you damn sure don't want to be mistaken for BEING A COMPONENT OR PART OF the cause of the initial problem.
yes I've always strongly suggested you remain observant and ideally armed with the skill to prevail, should you be forced to fight!
but you damn sure don't want to be mistaken as part of the problem, and ideally you want to protect your family and let the cops,
do their job unless it's obvious YOU can stop the problem and your totally justified in your action's doing so!
if you pull out a gun
almost every observer will assume YOUR part of the problem
