working on cars by yourself can be a P.I.T.A. at times, I need to find a minor electrical glitch, the darn cooling fan won,t come on, so I pull the car into the shop and line up on the lift. if you have a second set of eyes and hands it makes most jobs far more enjoyable and usually the work goes faster and more efficiently, since I was alone I get out, after pulling the car in, and find I need to reposition the car a bit more to one side, so on the third try I get it just right, (yes I have the location the wheels need to be in, clearly marked on the shop floor,) to do it, but you can't see those lines, while in the car and the battery in the laser pointer gizmo, that lets me know where the car is exactly is dead, its usually not a problem is someone gives you hand signals as you pull in but I was alone.

having a laser pointer to use to position the car is usually a good idea....just remember to change the batteries and put a dot of nail polish or a sticker on your dash so you know exactly where the car needs to be positioned

so I get down (thats probably hilarious to watch,) while this old geezer gets up and down, positioning lift arms on the lift on the car frame, as I'm not nearly flexible with all the surgical pins in ankles, and back surgery knee surgery etc. so what should take 2 minutes took probably 10 minutes or more then, getting up was fun too, but I get the arms positioned and lift the car, and darn IT stinks typical, luck I'm trying to work on the car and I find BOTH the left tire treads are full of fresh dog poop, OBVIOUSLY THE NEIGHBOR DOGS ... TWO HUGE SHAGGY DOGS that look like IRISH WOLF HOUNDS, must have pooped in front of the shop and I ran over it without noticing at first.. from the smell they live exclusively on week old road killed skunk carcases.) as my dogs could not poop that much in a week ( two 12 lb dash hounds) so down comes the lift, with the corvette, the cars pulled out. of the shop, the tires are hosed off, the shop floors hosed off, and at least 20 more minutes wasted before the cars back up on the lift, by this time my backs killing me but hey, thats normal, naturally I left the shop manual in the cars front pass seat so I have to lower it to retrieve that then put the car up a third time before I fine that I must have run over some road trash that busted an electrical connector to one of the cooling fans so Ill need to go to the local NAPA dealer look thru his connector catalog and order a replacement connector, thats probably going to take 48-72 hours to show up and cost $7 for a $1 part, before I,m going to proceeding any further, tracking down my problem, and naturally the drop light falls and the bulb stops working so thats on the list of parts to pick up at NAPA, while I,m there, hopefully its just that busted connector, thats causing my problem, I might luck out
, all in all , its a typical start on a typical car repair job
