I got the new thermostat housing, and yup hose size is to large.
Seems so weird that manf dont list that...
So i took my oem housing and did some cleanup and some mild lapping.
Then finally i broke out the soda blaster from my aluminium cuddy boat project and did a detail cleanup, then sanding, and finally polishing on the Harbor freight buffer (to match up with the intake).
Reinstalled with the new gasket, and car back together with the new pushing fan installed.
Today I'll give it a good run to see if it's doing any better.
I also need to upgrade my water pump, it's a standard waterpump.
I'll pick up a proper pump soon.
And if still it runs a bit warm I'll look into an upgraded radiator.
The one i have been looking at is a dewitt, and it's nearly 500...
Money spends fast dont it Gibbles ?
$5,000 -50,000 can be spent in 1 day building cars.
Dewitts is OK.
I think they are over rated myself.
Champion radiator sounds like Champion Spark plugs USA.
But it is actually China.
Somebody I know cheaped out when I was on Corvette Forum.
Raved about how great it was.
Really about like stock OEM.
Problem is no one Rates Radiators by HP Horsepower Cooling capacity but Griffin.
Be- Cool & Griffin are the best I think.
But not made for the C4 Corvette by them.
There are universal fit Griffins. Priced right, $150-225.00. Drag Racers dont care. They are used to Fabbing.
Griffin did make a C4 Corvette radiator in the past.
2 of them .
1984-1989.
1990-1996 , ZR-1 DO1990-1995 same radiator.
I'm way over budget at this point, so i need to wait a while for that one...
The other one I'm thinking about is made by champion, i see they run about $150 on ebay...
