Got warmed up grinding seats.
Last valvejob I did myself was on my Wifee's 1999 Honda 2.0 DOHC engine thread here a few years back now.

Gor my Hand & Eye Quardination back in check & light touch feel grinding.
1st seat is done.
Intake seat.
3-angles. 30-45-60.
The Bowl is strange in these 193 heads.
Offset slight in the throat.
2-angles stock on intake too.
30-45 . 45 degree seat.

Changed my goal for today.
Grind all seats & final cleanup work.

Seat runout checks at .001".

As I get Hot at it again I.can hold .000" seat runout.

Take photos later.
Post.
Filled my 2nd photobucket account.
Don't feel like paying so I have to create a new Photo account.

By End of today I will be at where I was prior...
Ready to get the Valvejob done on.my 1970-1/2 Trans Am Ram Air IV 4 "614" Heads. Total Perfection a Must.

I lapped that 1St Intake Seat & Respective Valve I Electro etched prior.
Pefect Grumpy.
Margin Contact pattern is centered.
.070- .075" Wide.
Just a few rolls by hand with ultra fine Clover brand Corundum valve lapping coumpound - 10 seconds...

The Intake Throat to Seat transition is very nice Grumpy.
Reminiscent of what Pontiac used now like on Vintage Ram Air series heads.

Feels great with my Fingertips.

Ready to move onto grinding the Exhaust valveseats.
Its important to find and choose the correct Diameter stones.
And Shape the stones to correct angle desired with the Diamond dressing tool.
A Black Diamond is what actually cuts and dresses the Stone wheel.
Reface after cutting every seat to maintain ultra tight tolerance .

When wife gets home I will have her snap photos.
2 hand operations entire time performing the tasks in action .

Safety glasses for you guys that do your own valvejobs perhaps down the road.
Machining metal at 12,000 RPMS.

I ground an Exhaust seat down to 0.000" Runout Grumpy.
Lap this Valve in and calling it then night.
Continue in the morning .

Feeling off reading about Dallas today.

love the pictures and I'm sure many of the sites readers have never seen the way valve seats get polished up
