My Chevelle build and spot to Rant

I feel a HP withdrawal .....

even started putting together a list to rewire the whole car a whole lot
cheaper than these prey on muscle car guys prices. I have decided that I
need to get a notebook together.

I know your pain, HP withdrawal is not something to take lightly!!! It's a
very serious disease. :p

I'm planning a total rewire from scratch this winter also. It did some wiring
on the TBucket this last winter/spring, but just enough to make it drivable.
Starting completely over this winter.

So it looks like you are NOT going to use a pre-made harness from somone like
Painless or American Autowire.

I was looking at integrating the blue sea marine boxs one for switched and one for constant. I even put thought into making my own from scratch. But I would have allot of money supplies and I know it would nickel and dime me. I have allot of ideas in this melon I call a head. I can feel Brian sneaking up behind me slapping me in the back of the head "Keep it simple, Stupid! " :p . Paper is cheap and figuring out simple solutions to electrical situations has always been a specialty of mine. Went through a stage where my stereo was louder and the neon ambient lighting mixed with strobes and all other nonsense. Plus taking in consideration safety kill and a trunk mount battery. Allot of consideration to be taken plus constant fight between luxury and performance the age old battle. I want my cake and eat it too. grrrrr

Now that's abit freaky, because that is exactly what I have planned after looking
at components for nearly 9 months. AND I want to use Blue Sea Systems [BSS] myself.

I have considered a new product from BSS, but it's not available yet, the website says
"New - Winter 2014". It's already split with half switched circuits and the other half
constant. It's abit too small with 12 circuits, but I was interested enough to contact
BSS, but they wouldn't tell when it was going to be available.

 :( :( I put the chevelle away till the spring last night we got snow overnight so it was a good call. I keep it at my parents house as I live in an apartment. I did have some enjoyable tire roasting on the drive to drop it off . But planning stage back in effect Christmas owns all fundage right now so the only thing I can do is plan. I think it's time to do some renderings for the build. I am unsure of my direction for paint still. I want to build it timeless if you know what I mean. I don't want 15 years from now some one to say you can tell that was built in a certain era. It pains me cause I have to keep the art subtle and hidden. I have lots of ideas floating around so paper time is coming.

Yes it's that time of year again John.
Turkey day & The Santa & Kids day.
Bought enough for 2014.
2015 After the. Holidays its build a few Pontiac 455's for me.

I don't try and set trends or follow.
If you do, you become outdated soon.

Drag race fast never goes out of style.

So very true Brian I have been looking allot at old race car designs from the era when the chevelle was put on the track I want that kind of look but minus the flash. I am old enough to know that flash brings the wrong attention. I always find myself in compromise ville with my car cause what I want and need to get my goals counter each other out most of the time. Good example I would take all the metal metal out of my car and replace with light weight composite then want to sound deaden the car. Street car and race car don't mix well so it becomes a balance of compromise. The thing I hate most about compromise is you end with not the best street car and not the best race car. Yes you compensate with more HP to get that weight rolling. Wheels and tires are another compromise item for me. One side tells me put some 15" MT street drag radials on there and launch like a mad man. Other side says put 17" sticky hard sidewall tires and get handling. We all know tires are the biggest effect on a handling of a car. OK enough ranting I have to go to DMV and pay the man today so wifey can have a car. She is joining the malibu club lol.

That would be fun to do legally !!!

Was the a hand brake for the rear tires next to the shifter?

First Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and their families. I have a question but will post in the proper section along with after I find the answer posting it here.

Well hope everyone is having a good holiday season hoping santa drops off all your toys at my house. JK But I have been focused on learning about Turbo technology and have been at the turbo forums also lately. Darn HP addiction lol. I think I am gonna build some boost next year. I still have to work out the detail and the possibilities. But even if I don't I will learn a ton in the process of making the decision.

Well when it rains it pours. I got parts money for Christmas but the only parts bought were 2 batteries for the family daily drivers as they both decided they wanted to die this week. WTF both the same week. GRRRRRRRRR That was four coils or some injectors maybe some sensors.

On a different note I have been reading a good book "Engine Management Advanced Tuning" by Greg Banish. So far awesome book lots of good info I plan to put to use hopefully this summer. I have also realized how much will go into properly tuning my EFI my self and that Dyno time might be a good investment wether I tune it or some one else does we will see more when the time comes. But anyone who is interested in tuning efi should read this book.

ok here is the deal I have around 500 to spend on fuel lines fittings and a fuel cell plus will need a vent. Right now I have al
the external pump, regulator, filter and block off plate. The existing is pieced together and is next on my task list. Jic are cheaper than AN but my mind is also getting caught up in yhe whole ptfe. All opinions welcome and have read that hotrod article on PTFE fuel line. I am looking for best on a budget and safety. I prefer not to fill my trunk with a cell but rather mount it recessed. I also would like to keep weigh as far forward. Up for ideas.

Front mounted Fuel cell is still the best fuel system layout John.
Just like Vintage Gasser cars.
Top Fuel Dragsters.

won my new fuel cell last night on ebay seems to me I was bidding against the seller as a second chance notice came immediately after I won it. It is a RCI 2191A 19 gallon picked up for just over $200. Leaving around $300 to buy fuel lines and fittings. I have my ideas but am open to suggestions. The cell will be mounted recessed in the trunk as far forward as the rear axle will allow. Sorry Brian on chevelle being a daily driver that will see some 3 hour trips the front mount would not be too practical. But if I was going nasty weekend quarter mile killer that would have been my route. I hear so much mixed things over the web on this subject. I want best my budget can afford safety first here.

Fuel lines what are guys running?
Which fittings AN, JIC 37°, Pushlock?
Vent options here?
Fuel vapor smell?

Ordered fuel lines aeroquip black socketless and push lock fittings all Mocal other adaptors ,unions, bulkhead, and couplings are all summit, aeroquip, and mocal came in just under budget at $295 will go over after purchasing mounting hardware will brainstorm on what to use. Suggestions open as always.

This an area where You Create John.
Every car plumbing needs tends to be unique.
Back in the day I was paid good $$$$ to plumb 5.0 Race cars for fuel system requiements to support 1400 Hp with my bud Ed in Joliet.
Often worked out to $500 each cash pay.
2 nights of work.

Earls AN Fittings my Favorite.
Stainless Earls Fuel line hose.
The Goal to reach is use just 1 or 2 or No 90 degree or 180 degree fittings.
Straight unobstructed Fuel shot to the EFI or carburator.
