Can I use new lifters on a just broken in camshaft - only 2.5 hours run time on engine test stand?

I hadn't thought much about that, but you're right. Already caught 2 mice in the
have-a-heart trap. I take about 24 squirrels for a ride each year, plus some skunks,
opossums, etc. The engine will stay on the run-in stand which is engine stand height,
but I will now be sure to block off any open ports if that changes. THANKS.
