renegade intake? for cross fires

The Reverse input drum likely got Ficked up Gibbles.
Unless it looks brand new take it at throw it down the street at someone you dont like.

Buy a New Reverse Input Drum.

Yeah, I think replacing the reverse input drum again is a good idea.

working on filling up my online shopping carts.

I have a couple more items to look up and post for you Gibbles.
Playing Catch up with projects here.
Optional parts but I do Recommend.

There us a Special check valve I used in my Corvette I haven't found yet for you.
It Makes for Super Crisp Ultra Fast Hard hitting Lighting Fast Manual Gear change upshifts and Downshifts.
Almost like Driving a Muscle Car with A Muncie 4-speed with Close Ratio Gearing.
Secret checkvalve that will make your Corvette Trans out perform those $6,000-$15,000 transmissions .

My shift kit came with the transgo goodies for high rpm, including their check valve.
No ball, just a small hole like a jet in a carburetor.

If i replace the input drum I'll need a new one...

Its a different check valve.
Its presses into a worm feed oil hole passage. O-rings on the OD.
Unique.
When I was on Corvette Forum guys said it didn't work and joke....I realized soon all experts there were notta...
I was THE EXPERT.
Get back to You Gibbles.

Have to make checks on input drums I have.
I may have an early 1984-1985-1986.
I have later input drums that use the updated larger Steels used March 1987 & up.
I can sell to you low cost $ to help ya out & ship it this week.

Need to make side by checks with input drums.
Either what I have.
Or you post pics & I post mine.

The Factory checkvalve used in the 700R4 Trans case where the 2-4 Servo piston resides is Best Gibbles.
YOU WANT A BRAND NEW GM NOS PART.
Help you find that too.

I have a new check valve there, it was a pita to pull the old one.
I used a tap to grab the old one and a slide hammer to draw it out.

I also have the sonnex check valve, i forgot to install the first go, but installed when i plugged the separator plate.

I would also be willing to buy the drum from you, even pay you to install the reinforcement kit.

I'll get some pictures later when I get home today, I can also get some measurements.
The shaft should measure 298mm if I'm not mistaken.
I would prefer to not have to buy another torque converter.

when you select cylinder heads, too maximize the performance enhancing effect, the renegade intake manifold potentially has that the greatly increased air flow rate , its designed to provide ,over the restrictive OEM cross fire intake, manifold, and very restrictive OEM cylinder heads have make damn sure the heads you select are NOT the newer vortec style
(the ports won,t match the intake correctly)
and Id sure look for a 180-200 cc port cylinder head with 2.02 intake valves and 1.6" exhaust valves with valve spring clearance for at LEAST a .600 lift that flows a MINIMUM of 250 cfm at .500 lift, ID suggest 1.6:1 roller rockers if the budget allows.
then youll want a cam with at least that minimum .500 lift(closer to .550 would be better) and the intakes designed to operate most effectively in the 4500 rpm-6000 rpm power band range.

obviously youll want to match the cylinder head combustion chamber volume and cam duration to match that power band, and have a dynamic compression ratio near 8:1 to run pump octane fuel, reading the links will help narrow your choices!
the HEADERS AND EXHAUST BEHIND THE HEADERS has a HUGE effect on the intake and cylinder heads ability to flow air, maximizing the exhaust scavenging and matching the compression and cam timing , will allow the improved intake design to flow significantly more air, and of course more air REQUIRES more fuel, so youll want a better fuel pump, and larger injectors if your intention is to generate significantly better power

I'm a new guy here.

Just wanted to let you know that I just bought a Renegade from Eckler's off eBay and right now they have one left.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/172146225452?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Got it for $456.93, delivered. I had a coupon for $20.

Now I have to figure out heads, cam, etc. and re-read all of the crossfire threads here.
Hi IKE_84, boy did you come to the right place. Grumpy has basically laid out your recipe for
your new crossfire engine. He has done this in the past and you couldn't get better advice.
LISTEN TO GRUMPY! As your build progresses, you are going to get many conflicting opinions
from your friends, your engine builder, magazine articles, youtube, etc. DON'T LISTEN to them.
Grumpy has experience with this ...... GRUMPY just gave you a winning lotto ticket with the advice
he has just given to you. Don't waste it. Mike.

If you find your tv cable needs replacement like i did buy the one ecklers sells, nothing else.

Brian, from my reading the only difference assuming i get the correct drum internals would be on the shaft end.

If they look roughly the same like ports in the shaft it should be good.

I have some checking of my own to do.
Where there the Reverse input drum sits on the top with the Turbine shaft sticking out are part numbers.
I will check out tonight.
Heading to Joliet today to work with my Bud Ed. Race car projects.
Be around 8pm Central time tonight.
