I took the '63 Grand Prix for a ride down the Road Highway this morning.
The 1965 Olds 425 A Engine Runs Beautiful .
Smooth, Powerful , & Mega Torque a Blip of the Gas Pedal away.
More Power to be had with Fine Tuning and minor Jet changes on the Seconday side of The Holley 770 Street Avenger.
Its pretty good on Fuel Economy too.
I drove about 10 miles.
No issues.
Good Oil pressure at 40 psi Hot Cruising .
Took her up to 90 mph.
Went from 40 mph to 80 mph several times accelerating part throttle and then off the gas .
That Reseated the Piston Rings 100%.
No Oil burning smoke.
No oil leaks.
425 is Really willing to Rev Up.
Its super windy out today.
40 mph winds steady & peak wind gusts up to 50-55mph at my Farmhouse.
But its Sunny & Warm at 65 F.
I chose to leave the Valvecovers on today.
Do the Valvestem seal replacement gor another day.
I am thinking OEM Stock Replacement Valvesprings are the best choice for Now. Sealed Power VS-721 Spring set.
$32 only Summit Racing.
Install Titanium retainers too.
I love Ti Metal.....
RACE.
I added 1-1/2 quarts of MMO Marvel Mystery oil to the Engine crankcase.
Started and let the Olds 425 idle for 30 minutes .
Drained the Oil & installed a New Fresh K&N HP2003 Race oil Filter.
I put back in 5-quarts of CASTROL GTX EDGE High Mileage 10w30 Synthetic Oil.
Also added 8-ounces of GM EOS Engine Oil Supplement with the Good stuff ZINC.
Restarted and now I have 50 psi Oil Pressure cold & 44 psi hot oil pressure at 2,600 RPM's.
THE MMO REMOVED LOTS OF OLD CRAP SLUDGE HID INSIDE OF THE OIL GALLERIES .
MMO REALLY WORKS GREAT.
AWESOME STUFF.
RUNNING STRONG & A CLEAN ENGINE INSIDE.
