Looks like ya got it in there! no fun trying to roll a hoist on dirt/gravel driveway. Did that too many times at my old house.

Still running a single master cylinder I see, you're a brave man. I remember having to use parking brake to get home when those old style ones went bad.

yes CONGRATS on the instal so far, now all the little time consuming extra details come into play, to get it up and running correctly cooling and driveable!

All with 4-wheel Drum brake system has been replaced Birdman.
The Wheel cylinders I rebuilt honed out myself .
Real Asbestos brake shoes are on my 1963 G.P.
It actually stops with Athority.
No proportioning valve used.
A single 4-way Brass splitter with a Single inlet.
Rear brakes never lockup.
They do fade some after a few 120-0 mph stops.
The Early Wide Track Pontiacs have Ultra Long Lower Control arms.
A Super Strong Perimeter Frame.
Lots of AntiSquat Traction Engineered built in.

It sucked....Wet damp fine Gravel.
Windy. Just above Blustery.
Slept for 3 hours last night.
Worked a Full day. Detroit Diesel Engine Overhaul I am doing at work in Frame.
Main cap bolts are torqed to 391 Ft/lbs.
7 main caps.
I am super tough and strong yet.

I used a Cum A Long to move the picker.
At times pushed with my Suburban in 4wd High.
Real slow. Calculated .
Why My 63 GP Is the middle of my drive property.

Gold in the garage.

Sunday it will be ready to fire.

Made a Video of Spin testing my Vertex OAC Magneto.
Special ultra rare Olds V8 Vertex Magneto.Vintage 1964-66 unit with Brown cap.
I rebuilt it.
Have to upload to You Tube yet.

One thing to watch out for on these Olds Engines is the oil drain plug location.

A lifetime ago I had a 1966 Dynamic 88 425, extremely fast sedan, and clipped off the drain plug turning into a drive way.

It was in a very vulnerable location, the lowest part of the bottom of the oil pan.

Wonderful Engine!!

Thanks
Randy

Yes Randy.
The Oil Drain plug on my 1965 Olds 425 A engine is located on the very bottom of the oil pan.
Its a Flush mount style drain plug much like a Detroit Diesel 60 series engine uses.
I am on Max Performance Pontiac forum also.
That site is not google searchable.
In the archives on Max a few guys talked about the Olds 425.
Its an Ultra High Nickle Block casting.
Much like Modern DART RACING BLOCKS.
When my old friend Bill was alive still he told me stories of how Good the Olds 425 engines were.
He called it the Very Best Oldsmobile V8 engine ever.

I'm glad you are aware of the location, I don't know how many have been clipped off but I have personally been involved with two.
They were great engines for sure, I've always been a fan. So strange they used two different lifter bank angles.

Thanks
Randy

PS: Around 1986 I put a 1969 455 Olds Engine in a 1979 AMC Spirit, easiest swap ever and a lot of fun!!
AMC and Olds both had similar oil fill tubes so they looked remotely similar. Sometimes after dusting off a fast car they wanted to see what was in it.
304 AMC on the air cleaner, wow those little Engines run strong!!

Drivers side exhaust manifold won't work .
I bought from a nearby Olds diehard guy .
Found what I need.
Have to spend some $.

Headers out of the question .
Just not made for my application .
Not setup to build one offs.

A Vintage Oldsmobile TV Commercial on You Tube gave me clues what's needed.

425'S had single exhaust with a Crosspver pipe. Be a 310 HP 2-bbl engine.

I have a 360 HP & 470 FT/LB 4-BBL DELTA 98 ENGINE.
Engine secondary code N.
Original Dual Exhaust.
No Exhaust manifolds came with my engine.

Starfire had special exhaust manifolds.

My 403 Olds manifolds will bolt up but ports are smaller.

Still fire the engine up Sunday.
No exhaust manifolds.
8- Balls of fire shooting out.
Make a Neat You Tube Video.

Order the Exhaust manifolds I need tomarrow.
Take 1 week or less to come in.

Want my 1963 GP Sleeper quiet.
Have Brand new Walker Super Dynomax Long case 2-1/2" mufflers put away.
Perform exact same as Flowmaster 2-chambers without the Race Noise.

In my case the 1969 445 ex manifold was replaced with one from a 1970 350 Cutlass due to clearance/outlet problems.

Hopefully, its as easy for you as it was for me.

Thanks
Randy

Thanks for the old commercials, I can remember those ads and my first 2 cars had the Rocket motors. I heard those valve covers are very hard to come by these days. I still have in storage that '65 Riviera GS 425 with the original dual quads. My 71 boat tail doesn't turn over after soaking in Mistery Oil/Diesel in cylinders since last September so I may swap out for the 425. That should be an easy bolt up right?
